Prevent them before they start

Preventing odors before they happen is the easiest way to deal with them. Get a box of baking soda, open it and keep it in the fridge. Baking soda is designed to absorb odors and can keep a mini fridge smelling fresh and clean.

Cleaning up spills when they happen is another way to keep these products smelling clean. When something spills, clean up the spill as soon as possible. This can prevent it from growing mold, bacteria and producing an odor.

Cleaning out the mini fridge on a weekly basis is another way to prevent odors. Toss out any food that is spoiled or bad and give the entire interior a good wipe down to keep it clean.

Use ground coffee

Place ground coffee into plastic containers or bowls and place it inside the fridge. This helps eliminate the odor because the smell of coffee is so powerful that it will over power the odor that is in the fridge. After the coffee is gone, the odor should also stay gone. This will work well for small odors that have just began, but it might not work for all odors.

Vinegar

Vinegar, known for being an amazing cleaning agent and removing odors. Pick up some white vinegar and mix a solution with half water, half vinegar. Use this to scrub the inside of the refrigerator. Then, leave cups of vinegar inside of the mini fridge to help absorb any residual odor.

This is a great way to eliminate odor, but it can leave the interior of the refrigerator smelling like vinegar. To get rid of this, use the coffee tip above or use baking soda.

Baking soda

Baking soda is another great way to eliminate odors in a mini fridge. Simply open a box of baking soda, leave it sit inside of the mini fridge for an entire day, and then throw it in the trash. If the odor persists, do this with a new box of baking soda every day until the odor is gone.

If the odor is severe, put baking soda in the refrigerator in combination with other methods to eliminate the odor.

Lemon

A great way to clean the interior of a mini fridge is to use lemon, and it is a nice option for people that do not like the smell of coffee. Use lemon juice on a rag to wipe down or clean the inside of the refrigerator. This will create a nice, lemon smell that most people will enjoy.

Cutting up a lemon and placing lemon slices in the fridge is another great way to create a nice, pleasant smell in a fridge, too. The lemon slices can also help absorb odor in the mini fridge.

Eliminating the odor in a stinky mini fridge can mean a lot of scrubbing. Sometimes, one disgusting odor will be eliminated only to be replaced with the odor of bleach or cleaner. This can be as bothersome as the original odor was. Use these tips to eliminate the first odor and make sure that the interior of the fridge smells pleasant as soon as the door is opened.
